Contractor appointed for fast-track construction of cannabis plant

Maple Leaf has retained Rethinking Construction (RC) to carry out the fast-track construction of a new plant in Telkwa, British Columbia.

The Telkwa Facility will be completed with RC's Canna-Shield factory manufactured panelized building system, which uses magnesium oxide (MgO) board certified by the Canadian Construction Materials Centre. RC has over a decade of experience working with MgO board and offers CCMC certified MgO board for both interior and exterior sheathing. RC is currently supplying its Canna-Shield system to several cannabis operations in North America.

The Canna-Shield product is claied to offer fire, water, mold, impact and insect resistance, making it ideal for the cannabis industry. Using the factory manufactured panels, RC may be able to reduce construction timelines by up to 80% as compared with traditional construction methodologies.
