Contract awarded for new Highway 113 bridge

British Columbia’s Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure has awarded a contract for replacement of a bridge in in the Nisga’a Territory.

Formula Contractors from Prince George will begin its work in early spring on the CA$3.75m contract to replace the Ksi Sii Aks (Tseax) River Bridge and the project is expected to be completed in fall 2018.

“Multiple accidents have occurred on the existing bridge and this upgrade is a top priority for the Nisga’a Lisims Government and the ministry,” said minister of transportation and infrastructure Claire Trevena. “The existing single-lane bridge will be replaced by a new two-lane clear span bridge, providing a safer crossing for residents of the surrounding communities.”
