Construction set to start of retail expansion at Vancouver Airport

McArthurGlen Vancouver is starting construction of the second phase of its outlet at Vancouver Airport.

The new phase of the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Vancouver Airport will add 84,000 sq ft and 35 new brands. McArthurGlen estimates that the project will create a total of of 400 jobs for the construction and retail sectors.

The new phase will adjoin east of the existing centre and will mirror the current design, expanding on the centre's open-air village style, with piazzas, walkways and a variety of facades. Phase II forms part of McArthurGlen Group's plan to develop over 1.6 million square feet of retail space over the next three years across its 24-centre portfolio.

The 240,000 sq ft centre will remain open during construction.
