Three shortlisted for Davenport Diamond

Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx have announced the three teams that have been shortlisted to design, build and finance the Davenport Diamond rail grade separation project.

The project is intended to improve services in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton area (GTHA). It is part of Metrolinx's work to provide faster, more frequent and convenient transit service across the GTHA, as part of the GO Regional Express Rail (RER) program.

The teams are:

Davenport Construction Partners

  • Applicant lead: Dragados Canada, Bot Infrastructure
  • Construction team: Dragados Canada, Bot Infrastructure, Black & McDonald
  • Design team: Cowi North American (design dead), IBI Group Professional Services (Canada), Dissing+Weitling, Peto MacCallum, Sener SES Canada
  • Financial advisor: ACS Infrastructure Canada, National Bank Financial

Graham Commuter Rail Solution

  • Applicant lead: Graham Capital Partners, Graham Construction & Engineering
  • Construction team: Graham Construction & Engineering
  • Design team: LEA Consulting (design lead), Exp Services, International Bridge Technologies, Brown & Storey Architects
  • Financial advisor: Graham Capital Partners

Steelhead

  • Applicant lead: Dufferin Construction Company (a division of CRH Canada Group), Aecon Infrastructure Management
  • Construction team: Dufferin Construction Company, Aecon Infrastructure Management
  • Design team: Mott MacDonald Canada (design lead), DTAH, Pedelta, Golder Associates, RJ Burnside & Associates
  • Financial advisor: Bank of Nova Scotia

The scope of the Davenport Diamond project includes construction of a grade separation structure between the north/south GO Rail corridor and east/west CP Rail corridor, a pedestrian underpass, retaining walls forming the approaches of the grade separation structure and temporary diversions for use during construction. 

Teams will be invited to respond to a request for proposals in early 2018.
