Regina sees rise in building permits

The number of building permits issued in Regina in October was up on the same month last year.

The year-to-date figures remain strong when compared to historical trends as well, the city found.

“The city continues to experience significant activity in commercial development, a sign of the level of confidence in Regina’s economy,” said Mayor Michael Fougere. “We continue to see significant projects undertaken throughout our community.”

Permits issued in October for projects over CA$1m include construction of two new planned groups of dwellings valued at CA$4.8m and CA$1.7m, a permit for a new downtown retail space valued at CA$2.2m, and a permit for alterations to the Brandt Centre valued at CA$1.7m.
