Intertek expands Canadian business

Quality assurance business Intertek has expanded its Canadian operations with the roll-out of geotechnical and construction materials testing services.

The new offerings follow Intertek’s 2015 acquisition of PSI, a US engineering consulting and testing firm focused on the construction sector. The services will now reach the Canadian market via Intertek’s facility in Coquitlam, British Columbia.

The new services include project specification reviews, soil and concrete materials testing, field studies, laboratory testing and analysis, inspections, project monitoring, testing in full size environmental chambers, mix designs review and design services.

In addition to standard test procedures, Intertek said that it is also able to develop and simulate bespoke test environments to meet client needs.

Intertek-PSI engineering manager of construction services Daniel St-Pierre said: “At Intertek-PSI, we are always looking for ways to build on our expertise, offering our customers Total Quality Assurance solutions throughout a project’s life cycle. We’re delighted to add on-site geotechnical and construction testing services here in Canada, giving our customers more complete solutions through our fully engaged team.”
